Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Neil started his career at Arthur Andersen and then Rank Xerox before moving to Compaq where over 10 years he led several Channel and Global Customer teams.
Neil then moved to be Global Sales and Marketing Director on the board of Husky Computers a UK based mobile communications company and then to Cisco where he spent 14 years working . At Cisco Neil led Sales, Marketing, Capital Financing teams and the European Solutions marketing team. He was also Managing Director of Cisco’s Global Business with British Telecom and Managing Director of Cisco’s UK Public Sector organisation. Neil’s final role at Cisco was to successfully lead all Cisco’s activities as a London 2012 Sponsor, including delivery of Cisco’s London 2012 communications infrastructure, a major UK Digital legacy program and the company’s biggest ever Customer Marketing program.
In 2013, Neil set up and was the founding CEO of Digital Catapult, a national not for profit business that works with businesses, universities, public sector and innovation agencies to help accelerate data centric small companies to market across the UK. In the first 3 years the Digital Catapult helped over 2000 UK based companies.
Neil joined Rolls-Royce as a Chief Digital Officer in November 2016, bringing his unique combination of skills and experience around innovation, finance, business development, sales and marketing in both global blue chip and start up organisations.
Outside of his role at the Rolls-Royce, Neil is a Governor at Coventry University, is involved with Co-Operation Ireland, the largest Irish peace charity.
Away from the office, Neil is a keen golfer and cyclist and lives in Stratford-upon-Avon.
