Geoff has worked in UK city and county local government since 1987 and at Milton Keynes Council since 1998. His management responsibilities include corporate strategy, communications and external relations, economic development and inward investment.
His wider role embraces the promotion of Milton Keynes to external audiences and investors and leading major projects to secure the long-term economic success and sustainability of the city – which is the fastest growing place in the UK.
Geoff has established the Milton Keynes Future City Programme as a nationally prominent collaboration between industry, academia and the public sector. The programme provides a city-wide innovation environment and is deploying commercial and public service applications at scale. Projects include the MK:Smart city data hub (with the Open University and BT), a city-wide internet of things network, satellite data services, and low carbon and intelligent mobility – including the UK Autodrive driverless cars and the LUTZ autonomous pods projects.
