Amol is a senior telecommunications executive providing technology and business leadership in all areas of networked IT, Internet and Telecoms industry specialising in strategy definition, driving large scale engineering development/delivery units and leading global multi-discipline teams.
He is currently the Managing Director responsible for Accenture’s Global Network Virtualisation and transformation Offering as part of Network Practice within Accenture CMT operating unit. In this role he leads and manages global high end consulting teams that provide strategy, consulting, execution and transformation services to CXO clients in areas of Network economics, strategy, SDN/NFV, cloud, all IP and NGN platforms. He is responsible for developing and driving global offerings in this area and has full P&L accountability for the same.
Prior to joining Accenture, Amol was with Alcatel-Lucent as Senior Director responsible for Asia-Pacific professional services delivery including SDN/NFV. The unit provided Design, Engineering and Delivery of National and International Network Infrastructure and services for Alcatel-Lucent’s APAC Customers (Network /Telecom Service Providers)
Amol has also worked with British Telecom as Chief Architect for their global 21CN network platforms. In this role he led large cross division teams responsible for network architecture of all BT 21CN IP and Data platforms. Additionally, he was also responsible for E2E cross platform architecture, key focus areas being Mobility, IPTV and Content evolution. Finally, he also had overarching responsibility for creation, delivery and quality of network designs to ensure stability, cost efficiency, integrity and operability of BT’s global IP/MPLS network.
Apart from UK, Amol also had the opportunity to work in US, India and Singapore throughout his career and brings with him vast international industry experience. He was recognised with the BT Design CEO Award for successful completion of London 2012 Olympics Sprint Challenge and has been an active member of IEEE for more than 17 years.
Amol has a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from USC, California and a double degree executive MBA from UCLA, California-NUS, Singapore. He was also awarded the C H Wee Gold Medal for outstanding academic achievement in the executive MBA program.
